Thirty Days of Lists
The Archaeology Of Self Series
In 2011, I came upon a project on Instagram that was called Thirty Days of Lists. It was run by Amy and Kam. I loved the idea: for one month, make a list per day according to that day’s prompt. This was a great project for the journals I was making at the time, which I was selling in my Etsy shop. The project was on during March and September and eventually they also added December in.
I love a good list (still do), but this was next level and I dove in. I could justify my love of scrapbooking papers. I eventually ended up as a sponsor for Thirty Days of Lists which was amazing. It was a joy to come up with new ways to participate and document my life through lists.

I used my Instax; I used alphabet stickers; I used vintage elements; I used my favorite papers; I carved stamps; I used elements from the Project Life kits I was getting at the time; I used my favorite gel pens, black pens and stationary cutouts; I practiced my lettering skills.

I loved the community and met so many people that I would later end up working with.

Coming upon these journals, I was reminded of so much.
the paper collections that I couldn’t resist getting because I love color and patterns
the colors schemes and styles that I was attracted to
the photos I took to document my life
the creative flow of participating in a daily project
using all those bits and bobs one likes to save
And that is besides the actual answers to the prompts. There were some super fun questions that were part of this project. It was a way of documenting things that was creative, easy and quick. Which was the best formula for a project that had a daily component to it. Seeing these allowed me to reminisce about so much.
Eventually, the project ended and I had stored all of these journals (some I had in Beijign and are coming in my shipment). I was very happy to see these older journals again. I re-read them all, took some photos to document them, kept three and recycled the rest. I will do the same with the ones arriving with our shipment.
That is hard for me. As an archaeologist, I just want to keep everything. But it also feels good to be extra mindful about what I keep in its physical form and what I keep in its virtual form only. Sharing these photos helps me to make this decision.
Thanks for being here.
