Summertime Love

The Archaeology of Self Series

In 2014, I did the Summer of Love class by Kara Haupt. This was an ode to summer that I documented in a vintage book. There was a series of prompts and ideas that were shared in that class and we were invited to be easeful in the documenting of our love for that season.

I really loved working in this format. I used magazine images and vintage elements that I layered on the pages of the book I was using.

As you can see, there was very little use of wet media. Just collage images, stickers and a glue stick. It borders on scrapbooking which was part of what I loved about it. I added some instax pictures and printed out one from my camera roll.

I can see some of my favorite color combinations here, including that summer sky blue and that bright red. Love that! And now that I look back on this, I can affirm that I am more of a beach person than a pool one!
