Repurposing a Journal
Blue Sky Papers Leather Cover
In 2015, I was an influencer of sorts. I had bought a gorgeous constellations journal from Blue Sky Papers, this one. I used it as a travel journal and sketchbook. After this, they sent me my very own leather cover journal, with my username ‘dansmoncrane’ embossed on it.
It is so lovely, size A4 with gorgeous watercolor paper in it. I used it and shared the works I did in it on Instagram. Fast forward to last summer, when we were reunited with all the things we had put in storage while we were abroad. I found this journal again.
It is still gorgeous, but the art I made inside…not so much. So I decided to repurpose the cover. I undid the bindings, recycled the inside papers and bound new signatures in of thick watercolor paper.
I used this thick yellow chord and it looks so good with the deep brown of the cover, don’t you think?
I am thrilled with this and can’t wait to start playing in it. Thank you Blue Sky Papers for this gift that is still around a decade later. If you are interested in this type of journal, find it here. This post isn’t sponsored, I just wanted to share the joy!

How cool is this? I love that font and the size of the journal. Oh can we talk about the size!! Heheeee. It's really gorgeous and I have no doubt you'll create something beautiful inside.
Love it! How do you deal with all your things out of storage? Would be interesting to read a post about it. Is it more cringy or more sentimental?
Oh, just saw that you started showing some old journals for your Archeology of Self (cool project btw).
